Excavation & Trenching Safety - Roads Scholar Course 2

The course will identify soil classification, soil properties and stability, basic hazards associated with excavations and trenching, recognize the need for strict adherence to benching and shoring requirements, recognize the responsibilities of the competent person, recognize types of systems used to protect workers, and determine basic emergency response procedures. The course covers the requirements of 29 CFR Part 1926, Subpart P-Excavations, of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for the construction industry and essential material on the similarities and differences between general industry confined space and the new construction confined space standard subpart AA. This course is designed specifically for construction and maintenance personnel for transportation applications.
